Fire Chief Ed Kirchhofer
Clackamas Fire District #1 is committed to delivering the highest level of fire, rescue and emergency medical services possible to the 170,000 citizens who live in our service area. I am proud to serve as Fire Chief of this outstanding, progressive organization of more than 200 dedicated employees and volunteers.
As we prepare for the future of the Fire District, we are in the process of updating our Strategic Plan. This will include succession planning for employees as well as providing tools for elected officials to use as they work with staff in leading the organization. Unlike other strategic plans that have a five to 10-year life span, this will be a non-traditional document. It will be a living document with no expiration date that will be updated and continually used as the organization’s needs are identified and changed.
Since we began our Strategic Plan update over one year ago, Fire District employees from all areas of the organization have met on various occasions to brainstorm and discuss goals, needs and visions. This process is not only for the agency, but also for the community as we seek to be thoroughly prepared to meet the needs of our citizens.
Clackamas Fire District #1’s mission statement, “To safely protect and preserve life and property,” is consistently at the heart of this updating process. While we move forward with preparing for the future, we will always be committed to providing outstanding customer service for our citizens.
